EXECUTIVE BIOGRAPHY

Syed Sazzad Haider Chowdhury is a seasoned banking executive and digital transformation leader with nearly three decades of experience spanning banking operations, technology-driven innovation, process re-engineering, and financial services transformation.

As DMD and Chief Information Officer of Prime Bank PLC, he has played a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and advancing the Bank’s digital transformation agenda. His work focuses on leveraging emerging technologies to modernize banking processes, strengthen operational resilience, enhance customer experience, and create scalable, efficient financial services.

A strong advocate of intelligent automation and technology-led transformation, he has championed Robotic Process Automation (RPA) initiatives across Trade Finance, Account Services, Cash Management, and Treasury Operations. He also conceptualized Green Letter of Credit, a blockchain-based, paperless inland trade finance solution designed to improve transparency, accelerate processing, reduce operational costs, and promote sustainability in Bangladesh’s banking ecosystem.

Before joining Prime Bank, he held senior leadership positions at Dhaka Bank and Eastern Bank, where he led enterprise-wide operational transformation, centralized processing models, core banking modernization initiatives, and regulatory compliance enhancements. His contributions include technology-enabled trade finance analytics, automated customer service solutions, and stronger governance and risk management frameworks.

Throughout his career, he has contributed to major technology transformation programmes, including core banking system implementations, payment infrastructure modernization, sanctions screening automation, and the digitization of banking operations.

He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics, a Master’s degree in International Trade and Business, and an Advanced Certificate in Business Administration, all from the University of Dhaka.
