Mr. Sayeed Ahmed

Mr. Sayeed Ahmed is a Member of Parliament from the Shariatpur-01 Constituency, elected in the 13th National Parliament Election. He is the President of the Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) for the 2025–2026 term and is the first elected President of the Association since its inception in 1988.

A distinguished leader in Bangladesh’s insurance industry, Mr. Ahmed has been serving as Chairman of Global Insurance PLC since 2019 and has been actively contributing to the insurance sector since 2000. He is also a Member of the Governing Body of the Bangladesh Insurance Academy and an Executive Board Member of the International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh.

Beyond the insurance sector, Mr. Sayeed Ahmed holds leadership positions across a diverse range of business enterprises. He serves as Chairman of Bangladesh Check Technology Ltd., Purity Foods Ltd., and Ahmed Foundation. He previously served as Vice Chairman of Global Insurance Ltd. during 2010–2011 and 2018–2019. He also leads several enterprises as Managing Director of Vantage Securities Ltd., City Homes Ltd., and Al Taiyer International Ltd.

His professional engagements extend to the shipping, banking, and logistics sectors. He is the Proprietor of Ahmed Shipping Lines, Ahmed Inland Shipping Agency, A K International, and Ahmed Airways Services. He was a Sponsor Shareholder and former Chairman of the Risk Management Committee and Executive Committee of Padma Bank Limited, formerly known as Farmers Bank Ltd.

Mr. Ahmed has also played an active leadership role in the Bangladesh Cargo Vessel Owner Association. He currently serves as its President and Executive Committee Member and has previously held the positions of Senior Vice President and General Secretary.

In addition to his business activities, Mr. Sayeed Ahmed is actively involved in social, recreational, and sports organizations. He is a member of several prestigious clubs, including Dhaka Club Ltd., Gulshan Society, Uttara Club Ltd., Kurmitola Golf Club Ltd., Dhanmondi Club Ltd., Bangladesh Flying Club Ltd., Chittagong Boat Club, and All Community Club Ltd. His passion for sports is further reflected in his role as Vice President of Rajdhani Shooting Club.

A well-traveled business leader, Mr. Sayeed Ahmed has undertaken business trips to numerous countries around the world, reflecting his broad international exposure and engagement.
