Mr. Ahmed Shaheen  is an accomplished banking professional with more than 33 years of experience in the banking industry of Bangladesh. Prior to joining Mercantile Bank PLC as Additional Managing Director, he served as Additional Managing Director of Eastern Bank PLC, where he played a significant role in driving business development and strategic initiatives.

He began his banking career in late 1992 as a Probationary Officer at IFIC Bank. Throughout his distinguished career, he has gained extensive experience in International Banking, Corporate Relationship Management Structured Finance and Specialised Management. He also served as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer of Prime Bank Limited from 2015 to 2016.

Mr. Shaheen is a graduate of the University of Dhaka and completed his postgraduate studies at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). He holds the prestigious Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) certification from the Institute of Financial Services, UK, and is also a Certified Graduate in Finance of International Trade. He is a member of the Banking Commission of ICC Bangladesh.

With strong expertise in trade finance and financial product innovation, Mr. Shaheen has contributed significantly to the development and transformation of banking services in Bangladesh.
